Job summary
This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly busy team as a Disclosure Officer within the Data Protection and Privacy Team based at Kings Mill Hospital.
We are looking for a motivated enthusiastic team player to ensure that applications for health records, employee records and Freedom of Information Requests are dealt with in accordance with the legislation.
The post holder should be able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team, be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to prioritise their own workload to ensure compliance with the legislative timescales.

The post holder will process all requests for information ensuring compliance with statutory frameworks and timeframes including but not limited to DPA 2018, General Data Protection Regulations, Access to Health Records Act 1990, and Freedom of information Act 2000.

1. Computer literate

2. Knowledge of NHS based systems and NHS in general
3. Knowledge of Data Protection Act
Qualifications

4. Good standard of general education with GCSE English Language to grade C or equivalent
5. NVQ Level 3 in Customer Service or Business Administration
Desirable
6. To possess 4 GCSE or equivalent passes or equivalent.
Experience

7. To possess an appropriate understanding of the rights of applicants in relation to GDPR/Data Protection Act 2018 Subject Access Requests and Access to Health Records Act 1990
8. Advanced keyboard skills

9. Evidence of recent formal learning in GDPR/Data Protection Act 2018, eg CPD Certificate
10. Knowledge of the Patient Administration System (PAS)
11. Experience of working in a NHS healthcare or public authority setting
12. Intermediate experience of Microsoft Office products
