We now have a fantastic opportunity for a Science Teacher to join our new Options Autism School - Skylarks School in Epsom, Surrey.

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the natural world and develop critical thinking skills through engaging and hands-on science instruction.

Key Task Areas and Responsibilities

1. To plan, deliver and teach individual students or small groups, in accordance with the School’s Curriculum framework and related policies
2. To monitor, record and report on student progress
3. To contribute to and help implement developments that relate to the School Development Plan
4. To promote, in line with Company policies, the physical, educational and moral development of the students
5. To contribute to the development and implementation of an environment and programme of learning for the individual student to ensure progression at an appropriate and satisfactory rate
6. To take responsibility for coordinating the teaching, development, assessment, recording and reporting of subjects and areas of learning across key stages as agreed with the Headteacher
7. To devise, implement and review individual education plans, individual behaviour plans and other relevant individual plans in conjunction with other staff
8. To organise the classroom, its resources, student groupings and displays to provide a stimulating learning situation appropriate for students
9. Adequately plan to ensure the safety of students, in line with risk assessments, while both on and off site
10. To ensure Learning Support Assistants/Tutors/Instructors and care staff (where necessary) are well briefed and able to produce appropriate and effective resources/teaching aids

Qualifications Required

11. UK QTS or equivalent
12. Experience Teaching Key Stage 3 & 4

Our New Options Autism School will cater for pupils ages 11 – 19-year-old who have ASC and Complex Needs and will have capacity for 60 pupils.
