SEND Teaching Assistant – Mainstream Primary School (Oldham)

Milk Education are recruiting for a purpose-driven, ambitious SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream Primary School in Oldham on a long-term basis starting in April.

What You’ll Be Doing
1. Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND, helping them access learning and remain engaged in lessons.
2. Support the delivery of EHCP targets, working closely with the class teacher and SENCo to adapt activities to individual needs.
3. Use positive behaviour strategies to support emotional regulation and build trusting relationships with pupils.
4. Assist with classroom preparation, progress monitoring and feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil progress and wellbeing.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
5. Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) desirable.
6. 6–12 months’ experience supporting children or young people with SEND in a UK school setting.
7. Knowledge of ASC, ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs and effective support strategies.
8. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
9. Strong communication, patience and teamwork skills.
