This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Support Worker to join Elysium Healthcare's Community Houses service in Keighley. You will be part of a qualified and experienced team supporting adults with complex mental health needs, helping them on their journey towards independent living. Main duties of the job
As a Senior Support Worker, you will assist service users with their daily activities such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care. You will contribute to their recovery journeys, promote independence and empowerment, write and update care plans, and support community-based rehabilitation. The role may involve independent lone working, medication administration, and contributing to Care Programme Approaches (CPAs). You will need strong empathy, a caring nature, excellent people skills, and the ability to deal with challenging behaviours.
Job responsibilities
What you will be doing:
* Assist service users with day‑to‑day activities, including cooking, cleaning, washing, and some personal care.
* Contribute to individual recovery journeys.
* Promote independence and empowerment.
* Write and update care plans.
* Record service‑user electronic notes.
* Promote activities and support service users with in‑house and community‑based rehabilitation.
* Issue medication.
* Perform general duties such as admin, cleaning, stock ordering, and contacting external healthcare services.
As a Senior Support Worker you will have:
* Experience as a Senior Support Worker.
* Leadership skills and experience.
* Strong empathy and a caring and compassionate nature.
* Willingness to support residents with personal hygiene.
* Excellent people and communication skills, with a good sense of humour.
* Ability to deal with challenging behaviours.
* A positive and professional approach.
* Reliability, flexibility, hard‑work and honesty.
* Local residency or commutable distance to the four community houses.

Working hours
The position offers full‑time hours of 37.5 hours per week and part‑time hours of 21.5 hours per week on a rolling two‑week basis covering days, nights and weekends. Overtime and occasional flexibility can also be offered.
Location
Main St, Sutton‑in‑Craven, Keighley BD20 7JS. The four community houses are located in semi‑rural areas of Steeton, Sutton‑In‑Craven and Cowling. A driving licence is not essential, but you should be able to commute by public transport if living outside the area. Day shifts start at 7:35 am.
