The Management Accountant will manage one Finance Assistant and will play a key role in producing monthly management accounts, statutory accounts compliance, supporting audit, budgeting, forecasting, and managing payment cycles. Our client, a well‑established organisation based in North Kent, is seeking a Management Accountant to join them on a full‑time and permanent basis. The successful candidate will be formally qualified, with demonstrable experience in management accounting, consolidation and statutory accounting within a compliance‑focused environment.
This role offers a hybrid working pattern.
Description
* Prepare monthly management accounts, ensuring clarity, precision, and timely review for the Finance Manager. This includes supporting the accounts with high‑quality, balance‑sheet reconciliations.
* Provide confident client‑facing support, attending regular finance meetings with the client to discuss operational or process matters.
* Manage a broad range of advanced technical accounting activities, including generation and construction accruals, and detailed fixed asset register.
* Maintain financial governance, including oversight of payments and bank instructions, statutory books, loan note registers, sales invoice approvals, and overall integrity of portfolio financial records.
* Review the payments and bank instructions for approval.
* Prepare the corporation tax payments calculation and manage payments.
* Partner with stakeholders, providing high‑quality financial information to Finance Managers, resolving queries promptly, and building trusted relationships both internally and externally.
* Manage the statutory audit process, liaising with auditors and compiling the statutory audit working papers for submission.
* Process and update the annual operating budget and forecasts in the accounting system.
Profile
* A completed formal qualification is required (ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualified).
* Management accounting and statutory accounting experience.
* Previous people‑management experience is required to be considered.
* Experience in working closely with senior stakeholders.
* Experience working within a compliance‑focused environment.
* Clearly communicate technically complex financial issues.
* Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* A highly organised approach with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Will consider a first stepper from practice.
