Deli Assistant – £15 per hour + Surplus Service Charge

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Deli Assistant to join our team at Babington House (BA11 3RW). You will deliver refined, attentive, and personalised service to our members and guests, ensuring an enjoyable experience from greeting to taking orders, recommendations and payments.
Key duties
* Greet and serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner.
* Prepare hot and cold drinks to barista standards (training provided).
* Assist with food preparation, plating, and service at the deli counter.
* Clear tables, wash up, and keep dining and service areas tidy.
* Restock shelves, fridges, and displays to ensure products are available and presented to standard.
* Handle payments and operate the till accurately.
* Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures at all times.
* Support with opening and closing duties, including cleaning and stock checks.
* Ask members about any allergies or dietary requirements.
* Have a strong understanding of the food and drink menu to make recommendations.
* Aim to create a memorable experience and accommodate special requests where possible.
What we are looking for in a Deli Assistant
* 1-2 years’ experience in a busy high-profile bar (preferred but not essential)
* Team player who communicates well with all colleagues
* Punctual, reliable and trustworthy
* Sense of urgency
* Can-do mentality
* Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
* Genuine passion for food and beverage
* Flexible and available to work both opening and closing shifts when required
Expected Working Hours
* Varying shift times across seven days, including evenings and weekends
* Average hours 32-45 per week
Travel
Approx. 30 minutes from Bath, 50 minutes from Bristol & 10 mins from Frome (No local transport from Frome)
