Our client, a prominent player in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a Contract Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Derby. This role centres around the enhancement and optimisation of manufacturing processes for high-integrity and safety-critical components used in nuclear programmes, including the UK Submarine programme, existing nuclear generation fleet, decommissioning, and new nuclear establishments. Key Responsibilities: Develop and optimise manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and quality Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure product manufacturability Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for manufacturing issues Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations in the nuclear sector Prepare key technical documentation such as process flow diagrams and work instructions Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) Job Requirements: Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline Experience in the manufacturing sector, ideally within the nuclear industry Knowledge of welding, joining technologies, and non-destructive testing (NDT) requirements Proficiency in CAD and SAP (Systems Applications and Products) Experience in precision fabrication, particularly with nuclear-grade materials Understanding of design codes and industry standards relevant to the nuclear sector (e.g., ASME Section III) Excellent communication and presentation skills If you are a skilled Manufacturing Engineer with a passion for optimising processes and ensuring quality in high-stakes environments, we encourage you to apply now.
