Salary: £70,000 - 110,000 per year Requirements: We require City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification. We require knowledge and experience of mechanical systems, including HVAC systems and controls, or knowledge and experience of key electrical competencies and theory. We prefer 2 years of data center engineering operations experience. Responsibilities: We oversee the operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical infrastructure for data centers in AWS cloud regions. We maintain availability for customers by ensuring the operation and upkeep of technical infrastructure and the data center facility. We follow and maintain the highest safety standards, encourage a world-class safety culture, and help remediate safety risks and issues with other teams. We own safety initiatives and projects to strengthen our safety culture. We manage engineering and facility operations and maintenance across equipment such as UPSs, switchgear, circuit breakers, ATSs, diesel generators, chillers, HVAC, exhaust fans, VFDs, and transformers. We troubleshoot events within internal SLAs. We take daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment during routine rounds and log-taking. We supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance. We may perform manual handling and lifting of equipment. We work shifts, including morning, late, and night shifts. We participate in an on-call rotation and respond to off-duty emergency calls.
