Job Title: Production Engineer
Location: North Shields
Salary: Circa £45,000 - £60,000 depending on experience
Working Hours: 37 hours per week

As a Production Engineer you will:
* Play a key role in optimising manufacturing processes, specifically within thermal metal spraying applications.
* You will use your engineering expertise to improve efficiency, precision, and quality, ensuring production targets are met and exceeded.
* This is a hands-on role where you will be involved in designing solutions, managing projects, and supporting both in-house and off-site activities.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing engineering support to maintain smooth production workflows.
* Producing and updating engineering drawings, bills of materials, and technical documentation.
* Sourcing parts, consumables, subcontractors, and new technologies.
* Inspecting components and subcontractor work for quality compliance.
* Designing, sourcing, and installing test equipment, as well as creating manuals and instructions.
* Commissioning and calibrating test equipment.
* Investigating faults, testing new products, and supporting special projects.
* Working closely with suppliers and customers, offering technical expertise and support.
* Supporting commercial activities, including part recognition and assisting with quotations.
* Ensuring adherence to quality systems and maintenance schedules.
* Participating in off-site projects both in the UK and internationally.
Skills & Experience:
* HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
* Strong proficiency with SolidWorks and Onshape
* Experience in fitting, assembly, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and fluid dynamics
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Knowledge of robot programming.
* Excellent planning, organisation, and teamwork skills
* Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Desirable:
* Experience with 3D scanning and related software
* Knowledge of robot programming (RAPID, KAREL)
* Health & Safety qualifications (NEBOSH or equivalent)
