How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
The Welding Sales Specialist is a technical sales role responsible for developing expertise in Welding processes and applications specific to Airgas. The role involves working closely with an Advanced Fabrication Welding Sales Specialist, utilizing Airgas methodologies including Efficiency Analysis and Engineered Cost Reductions. The specialist interacts with Airgas staff, vendors, suppliers, and both current and prospective customers.
* Responsible for growing profitable sales of Welding Processes and Applications to small to midsize customers.
* Develop in-depth technical knowledge to match customer needs with Airgas products and services, addressing inquiries and providing excellent customer service.
* Utilize sales tools like Efficiency Analysis, Welding surveys, and Welding 201 to promote sales and margins.
* Travel with the Advanced Fabrication Welding Process Specialist to customer sites to understand their welding processes and recommend solutions.
* Provide customers with sales knowledge and marketing materials for Airgas welding products and services.
* Enhance selling skills and technical knowledge, especially in automation and CNC cutting systems.
* Operate safely and promote safety standards proactively.
* Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Are you a MATCH?
* Associate's Degree in Welding (AAS) preferred; military welding training, Bachelor's in Engineering, or additional welding experience may substitute.
* Pass the AWS Certified Welding Sales Representative (CWSR) exam after hiring to complete Airgas welding training.
* Memberships in AWS, ASM, ASNT, ASQ, ASME, or SME are desirable.
* Prior sales experience required; technical sales experience preferred.
* At least 4 years of welding industry experience.
* Strong interest and basic knowledge of welding processes.
* Relationship management and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to build effective relationships internally and externally.
* Knowledge of TQM, Lean, or Six Sigma principles.
