Who You Are As a social work assistant within Cardiff Children’s fostering service, you will contribute experience in working with children and young people, collaborating with multi-agency professionals, and applying skills in assessment and planning. You should have a flexible approach to your evolving role, understand relevant children’s legislation, and preferably have experience with a trauma-informed approach. What the Job Involves This position requires you to support and supervise foster carers by managing a caseload. Working under the guidance of the Principal Social Worker and Service Manager, you will assist in service delivery by assessing risks, using systems to record information, and implementing person-centred care plans. Reviewing the quality of care and establishing enabling plans are key responsibilities, along with undertaking necessary training. You will work both independently and collaboratively with the team.
