Offer description

Quantum is now, and it's built here.

Oxford Ionics, now part of IonQ, is pioneering the next generation of quantum computing. Using our world-leading trapped-ion technology, we're building the most powerful, accurate and reliable quantum systems to tackle problems that today's supercomputers cannot solve.

Joining Oxford Ionics means becoming part of a global IonQ team that is transforming the future of quantum technology - faster, at scale, and with real world impact.

The Role
We are looking for a Supply Chain & Inventory Manager to join IonQ's Operations team as we continue to scale our European presence. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and operating robust inventory and logistics processes across the EU, supporting IonQ's mission to build and deliver the world's most advanced quantum computing systems.

You will play a key role in shaping the systems, partners, and processes that underpin Oxford Ionic/ IonQ's European logistics and inventory operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and reliability as the company continues to grow globally.

What you will be responsible for

In this position, you will take hands-on ownership of EU inventory and logistics execution, working across warehousing, third-party logistics partners, carriers, and internal stakeholders to ensure materials move efficiently and compliantly.

You will have the opportunity to build structure where little currently exists, improve inventory accuracy and visibility, and support the successful implementation of ERP-driven inventory processes. Your work will directly enable IonQ's manufacturing, engineering, and operational teams as we scale quantum hardware production.

Key responsibilities include:

* Owning inventory control, accuracy, and cycle counting processes across EU warehouse locations
* Managing ERP and WMS tools to track inventory, material movements, and transactions, ensuring data integrity and reporting accuracy
* Driving reductions in inventory discrepancies, shrinkage, and obsolescence through disciplined inventory management practices
* Managing relationships with third-party logistics providers, carriers, and customs brokers to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation across road, sea, and air
* Working closely with Trade Compliance and Finance teams to ensure EU shipping, customs, and VAT processes are executed correctly and in line with internal controls
* Supporting ERP transition activities, including inventory setup, process definition, and validation in collaboration with cross-functional teams
* Acting as the primary operational point of contact for EU inventory and logistics matters, operating with a high degree of ownership and autonomy

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong foundations in supply chain, inventory, and logistics operations, with hands-on experience operating across European markets. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in ambiguity, building processes from the ground up, and balancing strategic thinking with practical execution in a fast-moving, highly technical environment.

You'd be a great fit with:

* Proven experience in inventory, logistics, or supply chain management roles, ideally within manufacturing, hardware, or technically complex environments
* Hands-on experience managing European logistics and cross-border shipping operations
* Mandatory experience working with ERP systems to manage inventory and logistics processes (Oracle NetSuite experience is a strong plus)
* Confidence working with third-party vendors, including 3PLs, carriers, and brokers, and holding them accountable to service and cost expectations
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams
* A proactive, hands-on mindset, with willingness to spend time in warehouse environments as needed and adapt to evolving operational requirements

Additional Information:

* This role is an individual contributor position, with responsibility for establishing and scaling EU inventory and logistics team/capabilities as the function evolves
* Occasional domestic and international travel may be required, expected to be no more than approximately 20%
* The role will involve working in and around warehouse environments; physical requirements are aligned with standard operational site activity

Benefits

Be part of a team that's shaping the future of quantum. We offer more than just a role, you'll join a world class community of scientists, engineers and innovators working to unlock the full potential of quantum computing.

We offer a range of benefits, including opportunities to further your career alongside industry leaders, a competitive salary with IonQ stock options, an annual performance bonus, generous annual leave, flexible hybrid working, private medical and dental insurance for you and your family, and much more.

Join us and be part of the future of quantum computing.

We're proud to be an equal opportunity employer and welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
