Mental Health Support Worker

Are you a caring individual looking to join a nurturing team? The role involves supporting Children and Young People within the 8-bed inpatient High Intensity Environment/PICU at Alumhurst Road, Bournemouth. The facility is a brand-new, state-of-the-art building designed with input from young people and their families.
Driving is desirable for this role as there could be a requirement to transport young people to their homes, placements, activities or medical appointments.
Responsibilities
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will provide exceptional care to young people aged between 13 and 18 years experiencing complex mental health needs. You will have strong communication skills, be compassionate, assist in organised activities, contribute to creating a safe and supportive environment, and offer emotional support. Previous experience in healthcare is desirable but not essential.
Main duties – Shift times
* Early – 07:00 to 15:00
* Late – 12:00 to 20:00
* Twilight – 16:00 to 00:00
* Nights – (enhanced pay) – 19:30 to 07:30
You will be required to undertake a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course; completion of this five‑day course is a condition of your engagement. The course must be passed to work within our inpatient settings.
Other duties appropriate to the role may be requested from time to time by the nurse in charge.
Qualifications & Requirements
Valid right to work in the UK – visa sponsorship is not available. You must hold a valid right to work and not require sponsorship if you are successful.
Completion of a Disclosure and Barring Service check is required (subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975).

Salary: £25,760 to £27,476 a year p.a., pro rata for part‑time.
