Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities (Please see Job Description and Person Specification for more details): About the Role We are seeking a highly professional, organised, discreet, and proactive Personal Assistant and Legal Secretary who can work on their own initiative to provide comprehensive, high-level support to the Monitoring Officer and the Head of Law and Governance. As the primary point of contact for the Monitoring Officer and Head of Law and Governance (MO), you will manage incoming correspondence, liaise with Councillors, officers, stakeholders and residents, prepare sensitive documents with instruction, manage diary arrangements, and ensure the smooth operation of their office, including code of conduct issues and constitutional matters, corporate governance and legal issues. Key Responsibilities Please see Job Description and Person Specification for more details but the role responsibilities include Legal Administration: Drafting correspondence, formatting legal documents and files. Complaint referral: Provide support in dealing with Code of Conduct related Complaints and Whistleblowing amongst other types of complaint handling. Governance Support: Taking accurate minutes at key governance meetings that the MO needs to attend, managing case files and reports and co-ordinating meetings and events. Compliance & Confidentiality: Acting with discretion and expedience regarding sensitive information, standards allegations, and investigations. Liaison: Acting as a professional point of contact for Members, senior officers, staff, external partners and residents. PA Support: Proactive diary management, scheduling, and travel arrangements for the Monitoring Office. Maintaining the case management system and undertaking other responsibilities commensurate with the role.
