We’re looking for an experienced Logistics Manager to lead operations at our busy Lenziemill, Cumbernauld Distribution Centre. This is a pivotal role for someone with deep expertise in transport and logistics, ideally gained in a unionised environment within the FMCG or retail sector. You’ll be responsible for driving operational excellence, managing complex transport networks, and leading teams with confidence and clarity.

Role details:
Salary: Circa £65,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working pattern: Monday to Friday
Location: Gist Limited, Lenziemill Road, Cumbernauld, G67 2XN
What you’ll do:
12. You will plan and deliver all operations transport activities through your team of Transport Shift Manager, to ensure the required level of service is provided
13. Effectively motivate, manage and inspire your team to develop and grow the skills of their team
14. Drive Continuous Improvement within the operation
15. Provide inspirational leadership to your team and work in partnership with M&S & our customers to ensure productivity, accuracy and cost targets are met and exceeded
Who you are:
16. Experience of working in a large, complex transport function - ideally within temperature controlled/FMCG/Retail distribution
17. CPC Licence
18. Union Experience
19. A passion for encouraging teamwork, with an innovative approach to leadership
20. Excellent customer relationship-building skills
21. Strong commercial awareness
22. An analytical mindset with a good understanding of reporting and recording performance statistics
23. Relevant transport management systems knowledge
24. Flexibility to work within a fast-paced 24/7 business
