As part of this development, the company is seeking a confident and commercially focused Management Accountant to support the Finance Director in leading day-to-day financial operations and management reporting. Role Overview
The Management Accountant will play a key role in producing timely and accurate financial information, supporting the wider team with insight and analysis, and helping to drive process improvements. The position offers a wide breadth of responsibility and the chance to be involved in both strategic and operational aspects of finance.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare monthly management accounts with accompanying commentary
* Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate ledgers
* Coordinate and process weekly and monthly payroll, including HMRC submissions
* Assist with year-end accounts preparation and liaise with external auditors
* Submit monthly VAT returns and oversee compliance
* Post journals, manage accruals and prepayments, and oversee transactional processing
* Lead WIP reviews and perform reconciliations
* Support budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis
Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience in a management accounting or similar finance role
* Part-qualified (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) or qualified by experience
* Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software
* Ability to work independently and take ownership of processes
* Confident communicator with strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
* Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with evolving priorities
