Senior Marketing Manager (12 month fixed term contract)
About this role:
As a key member of the marketing team, you will be taking on the strategic ownership of marketing across the UK & Ireland and Southern Europe regions. As a critical role, the Senior Marketing Manager is accountable for the entire marketing ecosystem within these regions; from developing long-term strategic plans to the hands-on execution and long-term success of our multi-channel campaigns. Your primary focus will be to define and drive our personalised, multi-touch account-based marketing (ABM) strategy, ensuring our digital and traditional marketing efforts directly contribute to business objectives and commercial targets in these markets. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, technical expertise, and collaborative leadership to successfully elevate our brand and drive revenue across key international territories.
Main Responsibilities
• Develop and implement long-term marketing initiatives across both the UK&I and Southern Europe regions, showing clear progression with our sales and partner business plans.
• Lead and oversee the personalised, multi-touch, targeted campaign strategy for our Account-Based Marketing (ABM) program, aligning with key personas and focus customers in the UK&I and Southern Europe.
• Act as the in-house expert on ABM, managing the strategy and implementation, and driving best practices with our marketing automation platform.
• Take full strategic ownership of key projects, demonstrating a clear track record of achieving defined marketing goals. This includes being a leading role in our global targeted omnichannel marketing campaigns to various focus personas.
• Take ownership of the regional marketing budget, including strategic planning, allocation across channels, and tracking spend to ensure all activities are commercially relevant and demonstrate a strong return on investment.
• Collaborate with the wider Helvar business to map and optimise the customer journeys for our focus personas.
• Lead the selection and management of external vendors and agencies, negotiating contracts and overseeing project delivery to maximise marketing impact and efficiency.
• Support the execution of global marketing campaigns, ensuring all activities are localised and culturally relevant.
• Organise and support regional events, including customer events and webinars. You'll be responsible for steering and supporting local event partners, coordinating all stakeholders, and ensuring all events demonstrate a clear marketing return-on-investment.
• Produce high-quality content for global and regional audiences, including written articles, blogs, brochures, video content, presentations, and case studies.
• Create on-brand marketing communications for both internal and external audiences.
• Produce supporting marketing and promotional materials to a high standard, considering content marketing best practice, Helvar's brand guidelines, and the most appropriate delivery channels.
• Ensure sales teams and partners have the latest marketing materials and brand assets to support their efforts. You'll also be responsible for managing and updating marketing tools and the CRM with accurate data.
• Define, track, and own a comprehensive set of KPIs that are directly tied to commercial outcomes, such as marketing-generated revenue, sales pipeline growth, and customer acquisition costs.
• Regularly analyse performance data and deliver insights that inform future strategic decisions and ensure all marketing activities are commercially relevant and contribute directly to business objectives.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across sales, product, and leadership to align on goals and ensure marketing initiatives have the full support of the business.
• Act as a senior mentor and subject matter expert for the wider marketing team, providing guidance and sharing learnings from your regions to elevate the entire team's skill set and performance.
• Deliver exceptional communication and presentation skills to influence and align senior management and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrate a proven track record of developing and delivering engaging presentations for large audiences.
• Be responsible for updating the wider company on our marketing strategies across your focus regions.
• Contribute to the evolution of our global brand strategy, using regional insights and market feedback to inform future direction.
Competencies
• 5+ years’ experience in B2B marketing management roles, preferably within manufacturing or technical sectors.
• Proven expertise in Account-Based Marketing (ABM), specifically designing and executing multi-touch campaigns for complex buying committees.
• Proficiency with Marketing Automation and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce).
• Commercial and financial literacy, with direct experience managing regional budgets, P&L, and reporting on ROI/revenue attribution.
• Strong technical copywriting skills, with the ability to translate complex product specifications into compelling value propositions.
• Experience managing cross-cultural stakeholders & customers.
• Hands-on event management experience, from strategic planning to on-site logistics and vendor management.
• Demonstrated ability to balance high-level strategy with operational execution (a "player-coach" mindset).
