Service business based in the Bolton requires a Management Accountant. Reporting to the CFO, you will lead the month-end close process and support the preparation of timely and accurate financial reporting. You will contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and key financial analysis, whilst liaising with both internal and external stakeholders. Day to day duties will include; * Responsible for the production of monthly management accounts, including the posting of key journals, variance analysis and insightful commentary. * Leading the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met with accurate reporting. * Ownership of all balance sheet reconciliations, being able to understand key movements and variances against the budget/forecast. * Liaising with external stakeholders where necessary (such as investors, auditors and HMRC) * Develop and maintain the financial models used for budgeting and forecasting, with the ability to understand how business performance translates into balance sheet movements. * Collaborate with department heads during the budgeting and forecasting process. * Ownership of the cashflow forecasting process, providing insightful variance analysis against the budget/forecast, whilst being able to re-forecast based on actual performance. * Champions a culture of innovation and efficiency, always looking for a way to improve best practise. Qualifications and Skills * Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) or QBE. * 3 years’ experience in a Management Accounts role. * Advanced excel skills and proficiency in reporting software. * Experience using Power BI an advantage, but not essential. * Have a solid understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS accounting standards. * Strong team player with excellent organisational skills and a proactive approach. * Able to mentor and develop more junior members of the team. * Keen problem solver and proactive to challenge the status quo. * Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders. * Strong attention to detail, punctuality, reliability, and self-motivation are essential attributes to this role.
