SCOPE OF ROLE:
To provide dedicated warehouse support to the new Projects Division, managing stock, assemblies, and deliveries for major projects and ongoing OEM business. The role will focus on ensuring project components are correctly received, stored, assembled, tested, and prepared for dispatch in line with project timelines and customer requirements. The Projects Warehouse Technician will work closely with both the Warehouse Manager and Projects Team to ensure smooth, accurate, and timely fulfilment of complex orders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Warehouse Support >
* Receive, inspect, and accurately book in project-related goods.
* Manage storage locations and ensure full traceability of project stock.
* Prepare components for project assembly work in line with build schedules.
* Monitor and report on incoming parts to support the Projects Team in managing delivery timelines.
Assembly & Testing >
* Carry out light in-house assembly work for project builds, including fitting, labelling, and packaging.
* Conduct basic functional tests where required (in line with project specifications and procedures).
* Support final inspection checks prior to dispatch to ensure all components are complete and conform to project requirements.
Logistics & Dispatch >
* Coordinate project deliveries to meet scheduled dispatch dates.
* Prepare and package finished assemblies, ensuring correct labelling and documentation are included.
* Communicate any issues or delays to both the Warehouse and Projects Teams promptly.
Documentation & Reporting >
* Assist with the collation of documentation packs, certificates, and labels required for project deliveries.
* Work with the Projects Team to ensure all required documentation is ready for each shipment.
* Maintain accurate stock and movement records in Sage 200 to ensure full traceability.
Team Collaboration >
* Work closely with both the Warehouse Manager and the Projects Team to ensure clear communication between departments.
* Attend regular project meetings and update progress on warehouse and assembly-related activities.
Skills & Experience Required >
* Experience working in a warehouse, logistics, or assembly environment.
* Good organisational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple project deadlines.
* Attention to detail, particularly with documentation and order accuracy.
* Good IT skills; experience with Sage 200 (or similar ERP systems) would be an advantage.
* Ability to read and follow assembly instructions or technical documents.
* Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Desirable >
* Previous experience working with valves, actuators, or technical assemblies.
* Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 processes and documentation.
* Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential).
