Job Title Night Shift Production Manager Role Overview The Night Shift Production Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining Health & Safety, product quality, efficiency, and Good Manufacturing Practices during the night shift. This role ensures that all production activities meet required quality, legality, and operational standards while supporting smooth night-time operations. Key Responsibilities Production & Operations Manage daily production processes to ensure efficiency targets are achieved. Ensure all products are prepared and produced according to specifications and quality standards. Ensure all quality and production operations follow the production schedule. Control ingredient and packaging flow, ensuring yield and waste targets are met. Maintain good housekeeping practices to minimise waste and ensure a clean production environment. Provide first-line operational support to night shift operatives to prevent bottlenecks. Quality & Compliance Ensure quality and consistency of products at all times; report any issues affecting standards immediately. Verify ingredient rotation daily to ensure correct usage and zero waste. Ensure all ingredient containers are correctly labelled with batch codes, supplier details, and use-by dates. Verify vegetable washroom operations and related records daily. Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cleaning on the production floor. Ensure hygiene rules are respected and followed at all times. Team Coordination & Training Work closely with supervisors, team leaders, and production line leaders to ensure smooth operations. Communicate effectively with daytime kitchen supervisors, mixing operators, and kitchen runners to ensure efficient ingredient supply and correct rotation. Monitor and train new and existing night shift staff. Reporting & Administration Provide regular production performance reports to senior management. Ensure all production paperwork is completed accurately for each shift. Report maintenance, structural, or equipment issues to senior management in a timely manner. Follow up on special requests such as sampling, extra cleaning, trials, or management directives. Desired Criteria Strong understanding of HACCP principles. Knowledge of production processes and product specifications. Ability to work with speed, accuracy, and dexterity. Punctual, reliable, and detail-oriented.
