Behaviour Support Assistant – Newcastle
Job Type: Full-time, Temporary

Looking for a role where you can make a real difference every single day? We’re working with a welcoming Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Newcastle, supporting students who’ve faced barriers to mainstream education. This is your chance to help young people rebuild trust, re-engage with learning, and achieve more than they thought possible.

What You’ll Be Doing

* Providing behaviour support to small groups and individuals

* Using de-escalation and restorative approaches to support positive behaviour

* Encouraging students to engage in learning and build confidence

* Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and external specialists

What We’re Looking For

* Resilience, positivity, and confidence in challenging situations

* A calm, patient approach with a good sense of humour

* Experience in SEMH or alternative provision is a bonus but not essential

* Team Teach or similar de-escalation training would be great—but if not, we can help with that

What You’ll Get from Us

* Weekly PAYE pay—no hidden fees

* Free CPD, including behaviour management and safeguarding

* Dedicated support from your local Newcastle consultant

* The chance to be part of a genuinely supportive, values-led team
