Steer Automotive Group, the UK’s leading vehicle repair network, is looking for an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor (VDA) to join our Sunderland repair centre.
About the Role
As a Vehicle Damage Assessor, you’ll be responsible for delivering accurate vehicle damage assessments and repair estimates, ensuring all work meets insurer and manufacturer standards while supporting efficient repair flow across the site.
Key Responsibilities
14. Carry out detailed vehicle damage assessments using Audatex or similar systems
15. Prepare accurate, cost-effective repair estimates in line with insurer and OEM guidelines
16. Work closely with workshop, parts, and customer service teams to maintain repair progress
17. Communicate professionally with insurers, engineers, and customers
18. Complete all documentation accurately and within agreed timescales
What We’re Looking For
19. Proven experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor / Estimator
20. ATA VDA accreditation (or working towards)
21. Strong working knowledge of Audatex and estimating software
22. Excellent communication and organisational skills
23. High attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy
