An exciting opportunity has arisen within the outpatient physiotherapy team at Velindre Cancer Centre for a Band 7 Outpatient Clinical Lead Physiotherapist. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our innovative, patient centred and friendly team, within the Integrated Care Directorate at Velindre Cancer Centre. This post is part time - 30hrs/week, other hours or working patterns will be considered as part of flexible working requests; flexible working requests supported within this role.

The post holder will take the lead on the clinical delivery and day to day leadership of the outpatient physiotherapy services at Velindre Cancer Centre. Clinically you will oversee the delivery of outpatient physiotherapy services to a wide range of oncology and palliative care patients, at various stages of cancer treatment(s), accessing services at Velindre Cancer Centre. You will work closely and build relationships with a range of multi-disciplinary colleagues, including nursing, medical and other AHP colleagues. As such, it is a fantastic stepping-stone for future career opportunities.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Physiotherapist with highly developed communication skills, good organisational and time management skills, and appropriate post graduate qualifications and knowledge.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the configuration and delivery of the outpatient physiotherapy service; they will provide day to day leadership to the outpatient physiotherapy team and be responsible for developing their clinical skills and professional practice, along with delivering multi-disciplinary team education relevant to outpatient physiotherapy services. They will be supported by the Therapies Operational Lead and the Therapies Management team, with peer support provided by the other departmental therapy clinical leads, including the Inpatient Clinical Lead Physiotherapist.
They will be required to provide clinical service delivery and therefore experience of working as a Physiotherapist at a senior level. The successful candidate will need to be able to manage a complex clinical caseload, have excellent time management and prioritisation skills along with audit and service development skills. We are seeking a motivated, organised, and innovative individual who is an adaptive team player with excellent interpersonal skills. They will also be required to demonstrate effective leadership skills and experience.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
