Salary: NJC Grade 8 £31,586 to £34,314 per annum
Contract Type: Fixed Term/Secondment until 31 August 2026
Working Pattern: 37 hours per week, full time
Location: Bridge House, Worthing

1. You will need to be able to travel independently to various locations around the
county which may not be easily accessible by public transport.
2. There is a regular and intrinsic requirement to communicate in English with members of the public.

We have an exciting opportunity to work as part of our Educational Psychology Service supporting the delivery of the Local Authority’s wellbeing and inclusion strategy.
As an Assistant Psychologist, you will support and complement the work carried out by practitioner psychologists in a thriving and highly skilled service, committed to promoting inclusion and delivering positive outcomes for children, young people, and their families. You will have opportunities for working with a range of professional groups, children and young people, parents, and carers.
This is a unique opportunity to develop your experience of applying psychological practice in a range of educational settings and situations. The Assistant Psychologist role would be particularly suitable for those wishing to pursue a post graduate doctoral qualification in Educational Psychology.
You will also have opportunities to work alongside Mental Health Support Team (MHST) members and to undertake some work independently. All work undertaken will be supervised by an Educational Psychologist.

About You
You will need an Honours Degree in Psychology, or a recognised equivalent qualification which
provides Graduate Basis for Registration with the British Psychological Society.
