Specialist Support Assistant (SEN)
Location: Bath (BA2)
Start: September (with opportunities to begin before the summer break)
Pay: £92.60 - £105 per day (subject to experience)
We are seeking a dedicated Specialist Support Assistant to support pupils within a resource base attached to a primary school in Bath. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs in a nurturing, structured environment.
This role would suit somebody with experience working with primary‑aged children who require additional support with communication, emotional regulation, or learning.
The Role
You will work closely with class teachers and the SEN team to support pupils with a range of needs within the resource base. Support may be delivered one‑to‑one or in small groups, depending on individual needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity to help children build confidence, independence, and positive relationships with learning.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting pupils with SEN in a safe and inclusive learning environment
* Assisting with learning activities, routines, and transitions
* Promoting communication, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour
* Working collaboratively with teaching staff and SEN professionals
* Following safeguarding and health & safety procedures at all times
About You
* Experience supporting children with SEN is desirable but not essential
* A positive, patient, and proactive approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A genuine interest in supporting children’s development and wellbeing
* A Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous but not necessary
