Overview
Clinical Nurse Specialist in Eating Disorders – Pathway Lead role at NHS North East London. The post holder will support the development and implementation of the Intensive Community Support Pathway for CYP with an eating disorder within the NELFT London CYP Eating Disorder Service to help prevent SEDU admissions.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a small team and dedicated MDT to support CYP and their carers to remain at home and avoid SEDU admission.
* Support the delivery of care for young people with eating disorders to prevent Tier 4 admissions, while offering psychological support and providing clinical oversight across the service.
* Responsible for assessment, treatment and outcome measurement; provide clinical supervision to staff; support clinical development within the Intensive Community Treatment Pathway.
* Support the Clinical Lead to manage and develop the Intensive Community Support Pathway and contribute to the development of this new service.
* Develop innovative strategies to support young people and their families and promote ongoing development of the service to help stay at home during recovery.
* Offer senior care reviews and reformulation of cases; work with external agencies to sustain ongoing care provisions for young people.
Qualifications and Experience
* Full NMC registration.
* Extensive experience in eating disorders and working with CYP who present with complexity and significant distress.
* Experience working with wider systems including education, social care and family/carers.
* Advanced knowledge of specialist therapeutic and nursing assessment, formulation and intervention, with specific expertise in supporting young people with eating disorders.
Employment Details
* Starting with NELFT.
* Role attracts High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of basic salary (minimum £4,714; maximum £5,941) pro rata for part-time staff.
* Probationary period applies (internal applicants may be exempt in certain circumstances).
