Instrumentation Engineer – London, UK
Key responsibilities and main tasks:
1. Work in the Instrumentation Engineering organization of 5 FTE on the company's side and around 110 FTE on the contractor’s side.
2. Assure the issuance, review, and approval of approximately 5,000 technical documents related to Instrumentation discipline.
3. Implement engineering specifications and provide quality assurance in procurement to ensure conformity with engineering standards and cost-effectiveness.
4. Ensure adherence to all Project HSE requirements, promote safety culture, and integrate safety into all design activities.
5. Provide expertise in Instrumentation and relevant Industry Codes and Standards for a multi-train LNG facility, including various online process analyzers and cryogenic instrumentation.
6. Review contractor and vendor-produced instrument data sheets for various instruments and systems, including process analyzers, control valves, safety valves, tank gauging, HIPPS, Fire and Gas detectors, and cable systems.
7. Participate in FATs for DCS/ESD/F&G systems with automation engineers.
8. Participate in P&ID reviews, HAZOP, and safety review meetings.
9. Coordinate with Contractor Instrumentation Engineering site leads to address issues and ensure effort alignment.
10. Identify opportunities and risks related to Instrumentation design, working with Process Safety to implement safeguards and mitigations.
11. Oversee and coordinate contractor planning and execution activities, with a focus on Instrumentation engineering but also related disciplines.
12. Assist the Lead Instrumentation and Control Engineer in ensuring compliance with EPC contract specifications during execution.
13. During site activities, respond promptly to queries, oversee punch list rectifications, onsite tests, and erection of equipment.
The experience shall include:
1. Degree in appropriate Engineering discipline.
2. Registration as a Chartered Engineer, PE, or equivalent.
3. Proficiency in English.
4. Eight (8) or more years of relevant experience in Oil and Gas and large projects.
5. Supervisory experience in plant and project engineering with increasing responsibilities.
