Job Title: Head of IT
Location: UK - Bath (with offices in Bath, London, Surrey, Fareham, Weymouth & Plymouth). This role is available full time with flexible and hybrid working arrangements. Travel to BMT sites or to attend meetings will be required.

About The Role
As Head of IT for the UK and Europe, you will deliver high-impact technology services that support teams and client delivery. You will ensure IT operations are efficient, secure, and adaptable, while aligning with the organisation’s global digital ambitions. This role connects regional needs with global strategy and requires collaboration with colleagues across borders to tailor IT solutions for the UK and European teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support the regional IT team, enabling collaboration and implementing the global IT strategy.
* Manage the UK and Europe IT budget as part of the global IT leadership team.
* Oversee day-to-day IT support for regional staff, ensuring reliable and efficient services.
* Maintain environments for project execution, software development, and data collection.
* Align regional IT services with global IT and digital strategy.
* Ensure system resilience and disaster recovery.
* Work with external service providers to manage regional services and meet business needs.
* Represent UK and Europe interests in global IT initiatives and architecture decisions.
* Coordinate the implementation of global IT changes and shared solutions.
* Develop IT management practices, including asset and licence management, issue tracking, and service ownership.
* Build and lead a capable regional IT team.
* Collaborate with the regional security manager to ensure compliance with UK government security policies and global security standards.
About You
You have led IT services across the UK and Europe and guided a business through large technology changes. You think strategically, aligning IT decisions with the broader business. You solve problems effectively and build strong, positive relationships with colleagues at all levels. You energize and motivate teams, earn trust quickly, and communicate complex technical ideas in a way that is understandable to non-technical stakeholders. You have managed IT projects end-to-end and have knowledge of UK MOD security requirements and an ITILv4 Foundation certificate. You are passionate about making an impact through technology.
