An exciting opportunity has arisen for a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Assistant to join the team. This role is key to supporting procurement operations by ensuring materials and supplies are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and on time. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, adaptable in a fast-paced environment, and focused on accuracy and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: Assist the Purchasing Manager with day-to-day procurement tasks Raise purchase orders based on stock levels, production schedules, and supplier lead times Communicate with suppliers to confirm pricing, delivery times, and order details Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and receiving documentation Monitor delivery schedules and address delays or discrepancies Support supplier performance evaluations (cost, quality, reliability) Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to ensure material availability Contribute to cost-saving initiatives through vendor sourcing and price negotiations Stay up to date with material specifications and product requirements relevant to the industry Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; further education in business, supply chain, or a related field is desirable 1–2 years’ experience in a purchasing or administrative role, ideally within a manufacturing or construction-related environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Good negotiation and supplier relationship management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; ERP experience (e.g., SAGE 200) is advantageous but not essential Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities Team player with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset What’s on Offer: Competitive salary and benefits Supportive, safety-conscious, and collaborative work environment Opportunities for development and progression If this sounds like a role for you apply today!
