We have an exciting vacancy for a dynamic and experienced Youth Worker who will be responsible for engaging and supporting a caseload of young people by delivering our accredited James Brindley Full Circle Programme via 1:1 intervention sessions, educational workshops, and assemblies. The role will also support the delivery of training to professionals from a range of external agencies.
The balance between 1:1 work and group delivery will change according to the services commissioned, requiring flexibility from the postholder. The role will focus on working with disengaged young people and their families, delivering impactful interventions, and promoting positive choices to reduce risk associated with youth violence and offending.
The post holder will play a crucial role in delivering the Full Circle Programme to vulnerable and at-risk young people to overcome challenges, set and achieve academic and personal goals, manage risk, and make informed positive choices that reduce their risk of offending.
Key duties and responsibilities:
Hold a caseload of potentially high risk individuals, delivering The Full Circle Programme and providing regular support to develop consequential thinking, make pro-social choices and empower them to work through the stages of change.
Support the delivery of The Full Circle Programme course to professionals when required. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to complete the Level 3 Award in Education and Training, enabling them to lead training courses.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with young people, offering emotional support, guidance and mentorship.
Stay up-to-date with related statistics on knife crime and youth violence to inform best practice.
Develop and deliver engaging presentations and workshops as required.
Address individual needs and challenges by utilising personal experience, local knowledge, professional skills and FCP resources to provide high quality support and intervention.
Assist young people in setting and achieving academic, personal and employment goals.
Collaborate with professionals across various settings including education, social work, healthcare, residential care and emergency services, to develop and implement effective support strategies.
Promote and encourage positive, pro-social attitudes, behaviour and social skills among young people.
Safeguard, protect and promote the welfare of the children and young people in accordance with policies and legislation.
Maintain accurate records of interactions with young people, their progress and outcomes in line with FCP guidance.
Actively participate in team meetings and contribute as a supportive and enthusiastic member of the organisation.
Advocate for and promote the activities of The James Brindley Foundation at all times
Meet agreed service outcomes, outputs, and personal appraisal targets, as agreed by the line manager
Undertake relevant training and actively participate in meetings, supervision, and professional development opportunities to enhance role effectiveness.
Ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act, GDPR and safeguarding legislation in all aspects of work.
Continuously update personal knowledge and skills to maintain effectiveness in meeting work requirements.
Undertake any other duties reasonably requested by The James Brindley Foundation
