Job Description:
St Mark's is an inclusive and open church, with strong eucharistic and choral traditions. Located just off Bromley High Street and close to Bromley South railway station (with its excellent links to Central London and the Kent coast), St Mark’s has a visible presence in the community.
The church was built in the late 1890's and is beautifully kept by a team of dedicated volunteers. Worship features a rotating selection of Eucharistic service settings throughout the year, and is enhanced by a strong choir with a wide age range.
The ideal candidate will be:
* A prayerful and inspiring leader, rooted in scripture and led by the Holy Spirit.
* Able to honour the rich choral traditions of St Mark's, but also bring fresh ideas and creativity, making worship come alive in new ways.
* Encouraging and empowering of others, helping them recognise and use their God-given gifts.
* Someone who embraces diversity and makes everyone feel truly welcome, no matter what their background or circumstances. With a compassionate heart, you will handle challenges with fairness and wisdom, upholding our safeguarding responsibilities and ensuring that St. Mark’s remains a place of safety, belonging, and hope.
* Committed to working collaboratively with our team of dedicated lay ministers, Office holders and PCC members.
* Comfortable to play a full part in our partnership with the local Church primary school, strengthening the existing bond between church and School.
The Vicarage is on Hayes Road, just a five-minute walk from the church. It offers three reception rooms, dining room, kitchen, scullery, and downstairs WC the ground floor, as well as five bedrooms, a bathroom, and an additional toilet upstairs. There is a spacious garden and patio, offering a peaceful setting for both relaxation and parish gatherings.
For further details about the parish and this post, please see the accompanying Profile and visit St Mark's website:
Interviews will be held in September (date tbc)
The wider a group’s diversity, the smarter, wiser, and more compassionate and creative its decision making becomes. We are committed to achieving diversity throughout our Diocese by seeking UKME/GMH colleagues and those from a wide range of backgrounds, to help us create a culture of inclusion and belonging.
