About the Role
Prepped Provision is seeking a passionate and adaptable GCSE Maths Tutor to join our growing team in Bury St Edmunds and/or Claydon. The role involves delivering in-person tuition in maths, either 1:1 or in small groups of up to four students.
We support a wide range of learners, including those needing academic challenge, confidence-building, or additional support. Tutors must be capable of working independently, designing engaging and well-structured lessons that are tailored to individual learning needs.
The ability to also deliver Functional Skills and A Level tuition is a distinct advantage.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging and effective GCSE Maths lessons .
* Teach in-person at either our Bury St Edmunds or Claydon centre (or both).
* Provide lessons during daytime and/or evening sessions, depending on student demand and your availability.
* Adapt teaching methods to suit the learning styles and academic goals of individual students and small groups.
* Track student progress and adjust lesson content as needed to ensure success.
* Communicate professionally with the Prepped Academy team and parents/carers as appropriate.
Essential Requirements
* Strong subject knowledge in GCSE Maths.
* Experience teaching or tutoring students at GCSE level.
* Ability to plan, organise, and deliver high-quality lessons independently.
* Excellent communication skills and a flexible, student-centred approach.
* Reliability and professionalism when working with young people.
* Willingness to work in-person at either learning centre (Bury St Edmunds or Claydon).
Desirable
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised tutoring/teaching qualification.
* Experience delivering A Level tuition and Functional Skills maths.
* Knowledge of AQA, Edexcel, or OCR GCSE and A Level specifications.
* Experience supporting students with additional learning needs or varied educational backgrounds.
