My client, a leading manufacturing company based in Wokingham is looking to recruit a Manufacturing Team Leader on a full time, permanent basis. This position is responsible for the safety and productivity of all production employees staffed on designated shift, as well as plant security. Additionally, the Team Leader position is accountable for ensuring that production scheduled for completion is executed in a timely manner and within all quality parameters. The position supports a lean and a safe manufacturing environment. The role is working a double day shift of 06.00 14.00 / 14.00 22.00 Monday to Friday. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure the safety and productivity of all employees assigned to designated shift Ensure the security of facilities during designated shift hours Enforce all safety and processing procedures Enable effective communications between management and operators Train new employees and coach existing employees Manage performance and absence of your team Main equipment and area of responsibility include: 3, 5 and 6 axis CNC Tool Grinding machines. All CNC and manual inspection equipment Pre-setting Quality control Undertake regular GROWs with direct reports Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with 5S protocol Investigate and report all incidents (spills, accidents, poor performance, OOBs/NCBs) Manufacture products as necessary and ensure all paperwork is kept up to date by shift personnel Suggest and implement cost-saving ideas with support from the team Ability to motivate others to meet demands established by the schedule Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates Managing cases and providing corrective actions for the responsible area Progressing of the production schedule and making sure all machines have adequate work. Ensure all aspects of machine maintenance for workshop. Troubleshooting machinery problems. Planning of scheduled machine maintenance with production manager/outside contractor. Cover and support other functions within department Must be aware of Health & Safety procedures, responsible for accurate Data Collection, knowledge of Quality Policy, work procedures and work instructions, identification and segregation of non-conforming material, the ability to use Sampling Plan and Quality Defect codes to report non-conformity material. Acts at all times as an ambassador for the business, building and maintaining good relationships with customers, colleagues and managers. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of either 4 years of 3 axis CNC machining experience. Or 2 years of 5 axis CNC machining experience Time served in apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification, although not essential if you have the required work experience. Experienced as a team leader or manager Good general education including Maths, English Language and I.T. Engineering discipline Must be able to use all inspection equipment and read drawings. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook & Excel. Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose problems in order to take appropriate action Computer literate - able to use Microsoft Office, Tool modelling, programming and Inspection software. The role is working on a rotating shift of 06.00 14.00 / 14.00 22.00 Monday to Friday. An attractive salary of circa £40k per annum is on offer for the right candidate.
