JOB : CAD Technician / Draughtsperson
LOCATION : Sheffield
TERM : Permanent
SALARY : GBP 28,000 to GBP 32,000 per annum (plus benefits)
My client is a leading engineering and manufacturing company based in Sheffield, specialising in the design and fabrication of bespoke mechanical and structural products. They are looking to expand their design office by taking on a CAD Technician / Draughtsperson proficient in AutoCAD.
The CAD Technician / Draughtsperson will ideally have the following attributes:
- Proven experience producing 2D technical drawings using AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of engineering or fabrication drawings
- Knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication processes
- Good attention to detail and accuracy in drawing preparation
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant engineering or design qualification (HNC, HND, or equivalent)
The CAD Technician / Draughtsperson role will involve:
- Producing 2D CAD drawings for fabrication and installation
- Preparing and updating layout, assembly, and detailed component drawings
- Liaising with engineers, production teams, and clients to ensure design accuracy
- Assisting with technical documentation and drawing control
- Working closely with the project and manufacturing teams to deliver on time and to specification
