About the Role
Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for schools in Wellingborough. The HLTA will take a leading role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, covering classes, planning and delivering lessons, and working closely with schools leadership teams to ensure high standards are achieved. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience and qualification beyond a standard TA, who is seeking responsibility and leadership in a school setting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan and deliver whole-class lessons across a range of subjects when needed.
2. Support the class teacher with curriculum planning, assessment, differentiation.
3. Lead interventions, small groups, booster groups to close gaps in learning.
4. Provide pastoral support and manage behaviour in line with school policies.
5. Mentor / guide junior TAs; take a leadership role in certain projects.
6. Liaise with teachers, SENDCo, SLT to monitor student progress.
7. Attend staff meetings, contribute to school improvement and development.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
8. HLTA qualification (or equivalent).
9. Prior experience as a TA with responsibility for delivering lessons or cover.
10. Strong subject knowledge (primary / secondary depending on school).
11. Excellent classroom management skills.
12. Commitment to share the school's vision and values.
13. Strong communication, planning, organisational skills.
