Laleham Gap School is expanding and we are looking for an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our wonderful, dedicated and highly effective team. The successful candidate will provide in-class and one-to-one support for Russian/Ukrainian-speaking students, they will possess excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for working with children with SEND. This role can be challenging but also incredibly rewarding therefore the ideal candidate must possess patience and resilience.

We currently have a vacancy for a Teaching Assistant at Kent Scheme A(32.75 hours per week Term Time Only plus inset days).
Kent Scheme KSA £24,513.00 (Pro-rota)
In addition to the above the roles will also receive SENA (Special Educational Needs Allowance) currently at pro rota of £1,484.97
Key Responsibilities
* Provide in-class and one-to-one support for Russian/Ukrainian-speaking students.
* Assist with translation and interpretation where needed.
* Support students’ language development and integration.
* Collaborate with teachers and support staff to meet individual learning needs.
Essential Requirements
* Fluency in Russian and/or Ukrainian (spoken and written).
* Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* Being a positive role model, supporting students and their individual needs
* Committed, flexible and enthusiastic individuals who are team players
* Relating well to pupils and have strong interpersonal skills and demonstrate a high level of emotional support and communicate effectively
* Experience and passion in supporting Pupil and Staff Wellbeing
* Experience of working with children with autism, speech language and communication difficulties as well as challenging behaviour
The successful candidates would be educated to at least GCSE grade C in English and Maths or equivalent and have the experience of working with children in an educational setting.
