We have an exciting position for a Pharmacy Technician to join HMP Huntercombe, a Category C men's prison, located near Nuffield in Oxfordshire.

We have an exciting position for a Pharmacy Technician to join HMP Huntercombe, a Category C men's prison, located near Nuffield in Oxfordshire.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to develop the medicines management service, enhance your clinical practice and leadership skills.

Hours

Monday to Friday: 07:45 - 17:30

Saturday & Sunday: 08:30 - 16:30

This position is full time working 37.5 hrs per week. You will be working predominantly Monday to Friday and have the opportunity to work weekends.

Salary

You'll receive an annual salary up to £33,454 per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will include:

* Provide safe and secure medicines management and reconciliation service to the agreed standards.
* Manage prescriptions and interventions, providing face-to-face advice to patients.
* Provide continuity of care to patients upon discharge.
* Build strong relationships within the multidisciplinary team.
* Share information relating to medicines optimisation and drug regimes.

Qualifications required
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Up-to-date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
* Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital or care home environment.

Job responsibilities

As a GPHC-registered pharmacy technician with Practice Plus Group, you will be an integral part of the pharmacy team and a valued member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Your duties include:

* Providing outstanding, patient-centred care by listening to and acting on patient feedback.
* Ensuring a safe and secure medicines management service, maintaining patient records to standard, and following SOPs diligently.
* Delivering non-judgmental care within professional standards, from administering medicines to analysing cost-effective prescribing.
* Inspiring excellence by forging strong links within teams, partners, and stakeholders, and providing trustworthy, safe services.
* Promoting best practice, evidence-based care, and continuous quality improvement, fostering a culture of shared learning.
* Communicating complex or sensitive information with empathy and understanding.
* Sharing information related to medicines, drug regimes, legislation, and health education to keep the team informed.
