Job Description
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team in Glenrothes, United Kingdom, for a maternity cover position. As a key member of our café, you will be responsible for creating exceptional coffee experiences for our customers whilst maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
* Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, including espresso-based beverages, to the highest standards
* Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment
* Create visually appealing latte art to enhance customer experience
* Take customer orders and process payments accurately using the POS system
* Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
* Provide friendly and attentive customer service, addressing queries and concerns promptly
* Assist in stock management and inventory control
* Support team members during peak hours to ensure efficient service
* Contribute to a positive work environment and collaborate effectively with colleagues
Qualifications
* Previous experience as a barista or in a similar customer-facing role is preferred
* Excellent knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and ability to operate espresso machines
* Demonstrated skill in latte art is desirable
* Strong customer service skills with a friendly and supportive demeanour
* Proficiency in cash handling and operating POS systems
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
* Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred, but training can be provided
* Passion for coffee and enthusiasm for delivering exceptional customer experiences
