Band 5 Civilian Dental Hygienist

Job summary
Provide dental treatment, oral hygiene instruction and education, and related administration for Defence Primary Healthcare. This is a part‑time role of 15.5 hours per week, with flexible working arrangements considered and reviewed annually. Salary will be pro‑rata for the part‑time hours undertaken.
Main duties
* Provide dental treatment and oral hygiene instruction.
* Deliver education and preventive care to patients.
* Support clinical and administrative tasks for other DPHC sites and health fairs.
* Enhance operational capability and minimise dental morbidity within the armed forces.

Qualifications and experience
* GDC‑approved Certificate, Diploma in Dental Hygiene or BSc in Dental Therapy.
* Current full General Dental Council registration, with all restrictions disclosed. If not currently held, registration must be obtained prior to start.
* Evidence of current practice as a registered dental hygienist.
* Evidence of indemnity cover for general dental practice.
* Currency with GDC CPD requirements.
* Confidence in use of information technology.

Experience
* Full UK driving licence.
* Evidence of indemnity cover for general dental practice.
* Evidence of currency with GDC CPD requirements.
* Confidence in using IT.
Additional information
Security check required; a six‑month probation period applies. No relocation expenses are offered. No visa sponsorship will be provided.
Candidates must provide evidence of Hepatitis B serology; vaccination status alone is not sufficient. Failure to provide sufficient evidence may result in withdrawal of the offer.
