SEN Teacher – Special Educational Needs
Location: Reading, Berkshire
Salary: £32,916 (M1) – £51,048 (U3) + SEN 1 Allowance
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Maternity Cover
Start Date: ASAP or September
We are working closely with a well-established and highly regarded specialist school to recruit a qualified SEN Teacher. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive, inclusive setting dedicated to helping pupils achieve meaningful outcomes both academically and personally.

The Role
Teaching pupils with a range of needs including ASD, MLD, SLD, and PMLD
Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual abilities
Supporting pupils’ communication, independence, and emotional regulation
Working closely with support staff, therapists, and senior leaders
Implementing EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
Creating a calm, safe, and inclusive classroom environmentRequirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
Experience working with pupils with SEND, ideally within a special school or SEN setting
Strong understanding of differentiation and adaptive teaching strategies
Patient, resilient, and reflective teaching approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
