Ewing Somerville Partnership are a leading Construction Cost Consultant providing Contract Administration, Quantity Surveying, Employers Agent and CDM 2015 services in Scotland predominantly within the Public Sector Social Housing market. \n\nThe role will include assisting Project Quantity Surveyorâs within their day-to-day activities (pre-contract and post-contract). Projects include new build housing developments, planned and reactive maintenance, including internal and external refurbishment works.\n\nWe pride ourselves on offering our apprentices learning and development opportunities that will support your progress in a stable and technically challenging environment. Through a structured training plan we will enable you to achieve both career progression and your goal of achieving a professional recognised quantity surveyor status in the future. You will undertake a Graduate Apprenticeship BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying work based degree with our University Partner, Glasgow Caledonian University commencing in September 2025 for 4 years.\n\nUpon graduation, you will be eligible to complete the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) to become a Chartered Member of RICS. The main skills to be developed in this role include:\n\nâ¢\tDrafting procurement notices on Public Contract Scotland\nâ¢\tArithmetical checks on tender submissions and valuations\nâ¢\tPreparing valuations and contract instructions\nâ¢\tPreparing and checking CDM information\nâ¢\tMeasurement of tender drawings\nâ¢\tPreparing tender documents\nâ¢\tTender reporting\nâ¢\tCost reporting\nâ¢\tAccompanying Project Quantity Surveyor to client meetings\nâ¢\tPreparing and issuing various contract notices Qualifications Required:\n\n1.\tSQA Highers: BBCC or equivalent\nor\n2.\tHNC or HND in Quantity Surveying (With an HNC/HND, there is the prospect to enter degree in up to Y3)\n\nYou should have a passion for a future career in Quantity Surveying and see this as a wonderful opportunity to work and study through the next 4 years and beyond. We are looking for a good communicator, conscientious worker and team player with strong numeric skills and an attention to detail. You will also possess excellent listening skills with energy, drive and initiative.
