Overview
Our client, a leader in the Defence and Security sector, is currently seeking a skilled Weapon System Equipment Project Engineer to join their dynamic team. If you are an experienced engineer looking for a unique opportunity to develop advanced Laser Directed Energy Weapon (LDEW) systems, this role is perfect for you. Responsibilities
* Managing interface with external partners, both programmatically and technically
* Overseeing the acceptance and delivery of the Beam Director sub-system, including its final assembly, integration, and test
* Supporting the functional integration of the Beam Director within the broader sub-system definition
* Driving project development to advance the DragonFire programme
Qualifications
* Extensive experience in weapons, systems engineering, and project engineering
* Proven track record of complex sub-system delivery and integration
* Ability to operate in the early lifecycle of a project, drive technical direction, and clarify stakeholder needs
* Experience working with third-party suppliers and developing technical statements of work
* Capability to develop complex electrical equipment or subsystems ensuring compliance with project requirements
* Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
* Leadership in technical work packages alongside experienced project managers
