This role can be based at any of our office locations: London, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, York, Glasgow. At ORR we have adopted hybrid working and are currently expected to work from a workplace location for a minimum of two days per week or 40%. Rail safety, strategy & policy team delivers a range of policy, regulatory and corporate functions as well as providing strategic direction to RSD’s work through risk ranking and prioritisation We are recruiting a fixed term Operational Development Manager (ODM) to join the Railway Safety Directorate (RSD). As part of our Capability Team, reporting directly to the Capability Programme Lead, you will work alongside other ODMs and other RSD colleagues to deliver key aspects of our L&D strategy for RSD. You will play a significant role in the development and delivery of our NEBOSH-accredited regulatory training programme (RTP) and technical training programme (TTP) for new trainee inspectors, specialist inspectors and inspector assistants. The training programmes can take 36 months to complete, and we may have multiple cohorts at different stages of the programmes. ORR moved its initial training delivery in house in 2021, and we now need to recruit an ODM to ensure we can continue to meet the increased demands of delivering quality training for our new staff.
