What will you be doing?
You will work as an IT Operations Support Engineer, collaborating with colleagues and internal teams to manage incident and request processes.
Your responsibilities include overseeing the deployment of releases and patches into the live environment, ensuring it remains up to date, and thoroughly testing all releases before implementation to protect the BAU environment.
You will work closely with Problem Management Engineers to address high-volume or high-impact trends across services and devices.
This role involves ensuring compliance with policies, handling hard-to-solve interactions within resolver teams, and stepping into incident lead roles during major outages or disruptions.
The role covers core hours and out-of-hours support on a rota basis for Priority 1 incidents, from 7 am to 10 pm, 7 days a week.
Ideal candidates will have strong technical skills across networking, security, applications, desktops, and EPOS environments, with experience in ITIL principles to safeguard the live environment.
Key qualities include attention to detail, trend analysis skills, calmness under pressure, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication skills are essential, with the ability to adapt communication style to the audience and avoid jargon.
Flexibility to cover occasional unsociable hours for project delivery is required.
