Sub Agent Inverness £45,000 – £50,000 Car / Allowance Benefits The Opportunity Our client, a major infrastructure contractor with a strong pipeline of Scottish civil engineering works, is looking for an experienced Sub Agent to join their delivery team. This project is set to run until late 2026 and represents a high-profile opportunity to take a key leadership role on one of the region’s most significant infrastructure developments. The Role As Sub Agent, you will be responsible for leading a defined section of works and coordinating the engineering and construction teams to deliver it safely and to programme. You’ll take ownership of planning, technical oversight, and quality, ensuring that the site is run efficiently and in line with all contractual and commercial obligations. You’ll be supported by Section Engineers and Site Engineers across the 9km stretch of new dual carriageway, drainage, earthworks, utilities and structures. Key Responsibilities: Manage the daily execution of a section of civil works, reporting directly to the Site Agent. Provide leadership and technical guidance to Section and Site Engineers. Own the short-term and stage programming for your area of work, ensuring efficient resource allocation. Drive health & safety culture on site, undertaking audits, reviews, and incident investigations. Manage method statements, permits and safe systems of work. Liaise with designers, commercial teams and subcontractors to resolve technical and buildability issues. Take ownership of quality control, as-built documentation and project handover requirements. Monitor productivity, output and progress against programme and KPIs. Assist with subcontractor management, procurement and contractual compliance. About You Strong track record working as a Sub Agent or Senior Engineer on civil engineering projects. Proven experience delivering infrastructure works such as highways, drainage, structures or utilities. Clear understanding of setting out principles, temporary works, and technical standards. Demonstrated ability to lead teams and deliver programmes to tight deadlines. Familiar with NEC contracts, commercial awareness and productivity measurement. CSCS card, SSSTS or SMSTS qualified, and full UK driving licence. Confident communicator and collaborative team player who leads by example.
