Job Description
* Grow turnover in both new and existing retail accounts by identifying opportunities and winning new listings and shelf space in store.
* Maximise customer acquisition and retention within the territory on a regular call cycle.
* Issuing and discussing quotations and ensuring adequate follow-up.
* Provide training to in-store staff to ensure consumers receive best advice and messaging.
* Managing own diary, planning routes and resources to maximise overall productivity.
* Conduct sales presentations, business proposals and product demonstrations.
* Attending trade exhibitions to meet with new and existing accounts.
* To provide the weekly and/or monthly commercial results and reports.
The Successful Applicant
A successful 'Account Manager' should have:
* Sales experience from the garden, pet or homeware industries - having sold into garden centers & independent retailers, gift shops etc.
* Strong negotiation and relationship building skills
* A passion for sales - driven mentality with an enjoyment of expanding business, identifying and developing new opportunities
* Happy to be predominantly field based covering the Midlands/North of the UK.
* Journey/route mapping skills
* A full UK Driving license.
