Global investors – We're proud to be backed by Brookfield and part of the HomeServe Group Summary of the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to join our Finance Team on a temporary basis, supporting the Management Accounting function. This role will focus on maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end processes, and supporting financial reporting and analysis. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with large data sets, ERP systems (NetSuite), and Excel spreadsheets, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Analysis Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including analysis of spend and accrual estimates. Support the production of financial reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines. Analyse financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for further investigation. Month-End Close Support month-end close processes, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and within deadlines. Prepare and post journals, including accruals and prepayments. Perform balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy of supporting documentation. Financial Control & Compliance Maintain accurate financial records within the accounting system. Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements, including SOX where applicable. Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes and controls. Perform bank reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies Business Partnering & Support Work with internal stakeholders to resolve queries and provide financial information. Support budgeting and forecasting processes where required. Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making. Additional Responsibilities Support various finance projects and process improvement initiatives. Undertake other ad hoc duties as required by the Finance Manager or wider business. Skills and Attributes Required Technical Skills Previous experience in a Finance Assistant or Assistant Accountant role, ideally supporting management accounting. AAT qualified or studying (or qualified by experience). Strong understanding of core accounting principles, including accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations. Experience preparing or supporting management accounts. Proficient in Excel, including use of formulas, data analysis, and reconciliation of large data sets. Experience with accounting or ERP systems (NetSuite or similar desirable). Personal Attributes Good attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy in day-to-day tasks. Organised, with the ability to manage and prioritise own workload. Willingness to learn and develop new skills within a finance environment.
