Alliance Automotive UK LV & CV Ltd (AAUK) are the distribution platforms for the UK Group, comprising over locations across the United Kingdom. Growth over the past 5 years has been driven by the Groups acquisition of independent distributors, acquiring over 65 businesses over this time.
The Position – Interim Management Accountant
AAUK is currently looking to recruit a senior management accountant, to join the finance team of the UK distribution business division with a turnover of over £m, based in Bradford.
Reporting to the distribution Financial Controller the candidate will be expected to co-ordinate a team of 3 management accountants to meet reporting deadlines whilst managing their own areas of responsibility.
The Group has a strict structure of monthly and quarterly reporting, and the applicants need to be used to producing work of a high standard to tight deadlines in a rapidly evolving business.
The on-going integration of acquired entities requires a flexible and ‘can do’ approach to the challenges that this presents and with this brings a great opportunity for the applicant to gain exposure to experience of acquisition accounting and reporting.
Job Specification
1. Responsibility for the preparation or review of key balance sheet control account reconciliations, including inventory, inventory provisions, bad debt provisions and rebate (customer + supplier) accruals
2. Point of contact and support for management accountants
3. Support to the FC in proving information and schedules to internal and external auditors
4. Commercial analysis and commentary on revenue and cost variances
5. Preparing drill down information to support explanations of variances
6. Process journals and other inputs onto the general ledger
7. Budget and forecast preparation
8. Monthly and quarterly SOX controls and processes
9. Other ad-hoc activities as required
Person Specification
10. Enthusiastic individual that is keen to learn, get involved and develop
11. Professionally qualified EG ACA, ACCA, CIMA
12. Team player, who is keen to build relationships with colleagues both above and below them in the finance and operational team
13. Excel proficiency to a high standard
14. Ability to compile, analyse and review data to a high level of accuracy
15. Good communication skills, both written and verbally
