This is a hands-on, multi-skilled role ideal for a software engineer who enjoys working across diverse and technically challenging systems in the energy, gas, and utilities sectors. Youll be joining a close-knit, growing team passionate about technology, engineering excellence, and continuous improvement.
Youll be responsible for developing automation software for complex control systems, supporting commissioning teams, attending client meetings, and mentoring junior engineers. The role is predominantly office-based at the companys head office, with up to two days per week working from home and occasional site visits for commissioning and client support.
Essential Skills & Experience: 5+ years experience in automation software engineering or controls design
Strong PLC/HMI programming skills across major platforms
Excellent documentation and revision control skills
Experience working on complex multi-vendor control systems
Benefits: Salary: £45,000 £60,000 DOE
Hybrid working: up to 2 days WFH once established in the role
40-hour work week with flexible start/finish times (core hours 10:00am4:00pm)
