As a member of the FCRM Improvements Portfolio team, you will support the Portfolio Management office and the sub‑portfolio’s project and programme work, delivering over £150m of improvements in the next three years. You’ll play a critical role in helping us better inform the changes we are delivering, which in turn will enable us to protect communities and businesses from the devastating impacts of flooding.
Responsibilities
* Start up and inform new projects, ensuring live projects are supported.
* Support project managers and build relationships with the Portfolio Management Office.
* Improve and embed our Portfolio management and data practices.
* Respond to incidents as required, providing business continuity during incidents.
Experience & Skills Required
* Formal project / programme management experience is essential.
* Highly numerate with strong data gathering, manipulation and interpretation skills; experience with Microsoft Excel required, and Power BI or Tableau desirable.
* Experience in a project support role in a complex organisation using Agile and waterfall methodologies.
* Administrative and organisational skills, supporting regular meetings, agenda and minutes for Portfolio governance cycles.
* Financial data management and project planning skills desirable.
* Ability to gain credibility, respect and co‑operation throughout the business by showing appropriate collaborative behaviours.
* Experience in tackling and automating routine issues with a continuous improvement and problem‑solving mindset.
* Ability to work with uncertainty and find innovative solutions to solve problems.
Additional Information
This role is not eligible for Skilled visa sponsorship. Applications from those wanting full, shared or part‑time working arrangements are welcome. Home and office working arrangements are possible; some travel and overnight stay will be required.
